Exterior and Interior:
The already carbon-fiber-rich bodywork of this 2017 Ford Mustang GT350R has been further upgraded with a carbon fiber package from Anderson Composites. The car is painted in a stealthy shade of Shadow Black and protected with an IGL Level 4 Kenzo ceramic coating. The stock wheels have been swapped out with the Weld Racing S71 Drag Pack. This package comprises a set of 17-inch 3-piece forged aluminum beadlock capable rear wheels and 18-inch Alumastar forged 6061 monoblock wheels up front. These wheels have been encircled by Mickey Thompson GT Street R street-legal drag racing rubber. The interior of the Shelby 350R comes specced in an Ebony/Red combo as standard. A Fathouse Fab 6-point roll bar has been installed to further stiffen the chassis and enhance handling.
Engine:
Under the hood of this 2017 Ford Mustang GT350R is a twin-turbocharged 5.2-liter flat-plane-crank V8 motor, which comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. This combo produces a maximum output of 526 horses in its stock condition. However, this 2017 Shelby GT350R is miles away from stock. The Fathouse Performance 1400R Package empowers it to produce more than double its stock horsepower rating. Upgrades start with a Fast Forward Race Engines-built engine package and a set of Xona Rotor dual ball-bearing turbochargers. These turbos are connected to a set of custom-fabricated stainless steel turbo headers protected by high-temperature ceramic header coating. These are followed up with custom stainless downpipes and a custom race exhaust system. The build also includes custom turbo air filters, titanium turbo blankets, a 4.5-inch air-to-air intercooler, ID1700x fuel injectors, and a 1400R Billet intake manifold. To handle all the power generated in the process, the stock transmission has been upgraded to a Level VI T56 Magnum XL unit. It is accompanied by a QA1 carbon fiber driveshaft, an RPS triple-disc carbon clutch, and high-performance G Force axles. Another major upgrade is the MoTeC M150 ECU package. It adds an advanced traction control system, rolling anti-lag system, flex fuel compatibility, launch control, engine failsafe, advanced data logging capability, and boost-by-gear while also eliminating lift shift. The upgraded suspension setup consists of an anti-wheel-hop suspension package along with the addition of a tubular K-member. On top of all these prominent upgrades, this Shelby GT350 1400R has been precisely tuned and given a flex-fuel calibration at an in-house DynoJet chassis dyno by Johnson Tuning. As per Fathouse Performance, this ballistic drag racer now produces a whopping 850 horsepower at the wheels on 93 octane gas and a mind-blowing 1,491 hp on E85 gas.
