Exterior and Interior
From the outside, the Humvee won’t be mistaken for anything else. It is a hard, strong, boxy truck with the aerodynamics of a brick. Its footprint is massive and road presence is intimidating. Even the most beefed-up full-size pickup trucks wouldn’t be able to match the menacing appearance of this purpose-built military truck. According to the current owner, this 1997 American General Humvee M1123 received a paint job in 2023. It has been finished in the shade anyone would most expect to see a Humvee in — military green. Other upgraded exterior components include new lights, mirrors, and windshield wipers. The truck gets a set of 16.5-inch off-road wheels with colossal 37-inch Goodyear Wrangler Mud Terrain tires, along with a spare tire carrier with two spares. This specification is more than enough to effortlessly crawl through the roughest of terrains. Inside, you’ll find one notable upgrade. This Humvee is equipped with a set of new MasterCraft suspension seats, providing seating for two at the front and four in the rear row.
Engine
This 1997 American General Humvee M1123 has been fitted with a plethora of new components. For starters, the engine has been upgraded to a new 6.5-liter Chevrolet diesel unit. It comes mated to a 4L80E 4-speed automatic performance transmission with an external transmission cooler and a four-wheel drivetrain. The truck also gets a new master cylinder, gaskets, batteries, carrier bearing, pulleys, balancer, belts, fuel pump, and thermostat. Along with the new internals, this Humvee is also equipped with a new digital tachometer. While this 1997 Humvee is far from a high-performance truck, it is an exceptionally capable off-roader with adequate vigor under the hood.
